A 16-page broadsheet newspaper for my grandfather’s 100th birthday. It tells the story of his life in a breezy 30,000 words. The text is synthesized from 18+ hours of interviews with Al conducted by his friends and family from 2016 to 2024. I transcribed the interviews, edited them together, designed the paper and made some maps.
Grace Snyder led the geneaological research, did photo research, helped with the photo edit, and took several photographs for the project. The cover portrait is by Andrew Southam, who also contributed interview transcripts and a number of photographs he made of Al over the years.
The display face is Respira by Sharp Type. Printed in New York City by Linco. 33” x 22.5”.
